Neighborhood History

The applicant's current, or if recently established, former neighborhood may be canvassed and individuals may be interviewed.  Derogatory information such as, but not limited to neighborhood relations, property upkeep, social gatherings, and visitors will usually be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Investigators will normally contact the applicant’s neighbors and others who live in the area of the applicant’s current and/or former residence. Questions asked will depend on the investigator but most will usually pertain to the level of responsibility of the applicant. The applicant’s behavior, pertaining to how he/she interacted with his/her neighbors and others, may be addressed. The investigator will inquire as to how well the applicant tended to his property as this reflects the level of responsibility in the applicant. Also the investigator may ask about social activities that may have taken place at the applicant’s residence, (i.e. whether a lot of loud parties were held, if dubious visitors often came by, etc.).

The applicant will normally be afforded the opportunity to explain any questionable circumstances that may arise during this portion of the investigation.
